Of course, once you live in Atlanta you will find that a great deal of what you can do is going to be influenced by your budget and by the amount of time that you have available.
When there is plenty of money, most adults then sadly find that they are hard pressed for free time. For those who really love their work this often leads to quite a happy life and the shortage of free time is not so bad.
On the other end, often when there is plenty of time, there may be a shortage of money. Children, students, and housewives are amongst those who often find this to be the situation.
Creative Loafing in Atlanta is a resource designed to help newcomers discover what they can do for fun. Of course, you need to have a bit of a ‘beginners mind’ in order to do this. If you already know what you want to do, then this guide can help you to find it. However, if one reason that you want to move is so that you can change how you have been living, then you will love this refreshing opportunity to discover new ways of having a good time. Creative Loafing is available online.
Next time, its back to the real estate itself.

Now that we have seen a few more houses let’s review another important aspect of the market. I mean the city of course, and how to live happily in it.
There are local guides that you can find to help you do this. One is a local magazine, called Atlanta Homes Lifestyles. This one covers quite a variety of information including home decor concerns as well as some of what we handle in this blog. This comes in especially handy for women and for couples without children, although no man need feel guilty if he gets his hands on this magazine.

There is a new neighborhood in Greater Atlanta called the River Club. This is part of a new trend that takes the same approach to the upscale homes as to those in the midrange: there is a club that goes with your neighborhood. The River Club community offers a private golf club of its own meant to rival other local country clubs.
This new development of fine upscale homes is bordered by a nature park at the Chattahoochee River. Schools, shopping and major roads are near enough for convenience yet distant enough for privacy and quiet.
Prices range from the $900s to the $2Mil.

Welcome back! Today, we are going to look at what turns out to be a modestly priced home. This is the kind of place that you have ‘taken for granted’ while growing up, then again maybe it isn’t.
Today’s example home comes from Nikki Adair, who a currently active builder in the Atlanta area. The price is $269,000. Reactions will vary depending upon experience and budget. What do you get for this price? A great deal: this a large house with a good sized urban lot of 1.4 or 1/2 acre. You also get a full two car garage, which is great if you have a couple or couple with family.
Here are another two features that makes this a powerfully attractive home. One is the exterior red brick which gives us a fine color and of course, marvelous strength. On the inside there are 5 bedrooms making plenty of room for a large family or for running a home business. Along with this are 3.5 bathrooms, supporting a recent building trend to add more of these to reduce the frustrations associated with waiting.
If this sounds like your kind of place, be sure to tell your realtor: the zip code is 30331.

Let’s have another showcase day, deep in the heart of the city. Ansley Park is a happening, mid level neighborhood, meaning you don’t have to be rich to live here.
What you see on the outside is just a plain and very flat red brick row. It is very straightforward, with the only variation being that some sections are a bit more forward than others.
Windows are flush with one another on the vertical plane, for three stories.
Internally, these places are also beautiful. Reminiscent of the loft, there is at least one interior brick wall. However, unlike the troubles of loft apartments, this place has a two-car garage and there is no industrial tubing to look at indoors.
30313 is the zip code, for those of you ready to release your realtor.

Since this may well be your new ‘home town’, there is a lot that you are going to want to know. One facet of the entire Atlanta experience will be the schools. Every now and then, we pay attention to this aspect the city.
Of course the city has a public school system. Today we’re going to observe a change: Atlanta’s elementary school Ed. Cook. Four years ago, this school had slumped into poor performance despite the successful construction of a brand new building just 6 years ago. Now, however, the school is operating at high standards, and has received an award to mark these improvements. This just goes to show that you need to pay attention to your local schools and you need to ‘not give up on them’ even when there is a problem.
