How to find an apartment in Atlanta

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

If you are thinking about moving to Atlanta you might need to find an apartment. You have several choices. You can check local newspaper, drive around in the area you like or get one of the free apartment guide magazines. But you can also do it very easy way and that is looking online.

For example check out online search engine for apartments for rent called The Apartment Finder. You can search for apartments in Atlanta or any other city nationwide. It has cool features like searching by College or by Military Base.

The search has really cool feature where you can see apartments on the map.

You can also see which listings are featured, what amenities they offer, if they have fitness center (important for me), balcony, washer/dryer, swimming pool, heated outdoor spa, tennis courts, etc. This is something what I really like.

What better way to find an apartment to perfectly fit your lifestyle then by using such search engine. Trying to find such info in magazines sucks. Do it online means just checking the criteria which are important and Apartment Finder will get the right listings for you.

Change of Pace: Commercial Property by Miriam Pia

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Today we are going to explore an entirely different area of the real estate market.  If you are a business owner, or a highly trained professional intent on ‘running a practice’ then you are going to need the right kind of space.

What we have in this event is a medical office.  So far it has functioned as an OB/GYN practice.  Thanks to this, all of your counter spaces and shelving units are already built in.

Of course, if you are going to run your operation from here you will need a few more details:  the location is good, being within walking distance of one of the city’s major hospitals: the Parkview Community Hospital.  Finally, your operating costs: it costs about $129K to run this shop annually.

Lastly, the price tag on this well located office is $2Mil.

Atlantic Station by Miriam Pia

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

Now, at long last we’ll take a brief look at a South Eastern portion of the city of Atlanta.  The neighborhood is called Atlantic Station and it is growing nicely.

The area has its very own sign postings, along with its own atmosphere.  Now, this charming, growing residential turf even has its own zip code: 303063.

Just as an added tidbit of info. today: the amount that people in the city of Atlanta alone currently drive on a daily basis is more mileage than there is between us here on planet Earth and the big blazing Sun we’ve noticed in our sky.  Now that’s a bit more mileage than we had thought, isn’t it!  What are we doing?!

Lawrenceville Charmers by Miriam Pia

Monday, November 27th, 2006

This time we’ll have a peek at homes that are fully detached houses.

You must be aware by now of what has been a trend during the past twenty years or so of the ‘new pop-up micro-mansions’.  This is really a triumph of the spirit of ‘making it humanly possible for everyone to be rich’.  It really is.  For a $350,000 investment, you can have a well built brick home with stately front and a nice all around yard full of features that Emperors a few centuries ago would have drooled with envy over.

For the more humble fee of $250K in this same suburb, you can find yourself a fabulous comfy middle class place that combines the stability of brick at the bottom and the softer flash of colored siding on the top.  Fine shutters stylishily protect windows that open out onto a lovely four sided yard.  This place offers three bedrooms, and a short front walkway with a reliable driveway.

More Atlanta Lofts by Miriam Pia

Monday, November 27th, 2006

Welcome back!

Dowtown has a great deal to offer for those more in favor of the urban route than the suburban one.

Here are two distinctive buildings both located well within the heart of the city.  One of these is Waddell St. a 3 story concrete grey building.  The homes here are starting at $190K and are within walking distance from Freedom Park.

The other is an Art Deco style of high rise harboring its own delightful lofts.  Also entrenched within the downtown milieu from one of these great hideaways are fantastic urban highlights such as the CNN Center & Rialto Theatre.

Chamber of Commerce: Basics by Miriam Pia

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006

Atlanta’s Chamber of Commerce does all it can to be great for both businesses and individual members.  Whether you just want to freelance from home, or run a small business in town, or a head up a large corporation, the Chamber is designed to help you.

Atlanta offers the third largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies in the entire nation!

Now and then I mention the Chamber of Commerce to you out there, because when you choose real estate, you will naturally care about the economy; you want to be able to do well there.  Well, you can find out more about corporations through the chamber- even if you are more the type to run them than to ‘just work for others at companies’.

Quality of Life in Atlanta: Yoga by Miriam Pia

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006

Welcome to another aspect of your new life as it unfolds in Atlanta.  It is called the Sidda Yoga Center and currently is working with ‘the energy within’, also commonly referred to as kundalini.

Unlike many other places, this yoga center’s Guru is a woman and her name is Gurumayi Chidvilasananda.

Two evenings each week you may practice ’satsang’ at the yoga center which means that you can be amongst others who are also interested in the truth.

2nd in the $170K Atlanta Series by Miriam Pia

Monday, November 20th, 2006

In the last posting we checked out a nice home.  You can put it to use for familial purposes or you can invest in it, and then rent it out to single people not yet interested in paying the price to live alone.

Here is a great contrast to the house and another favorite of urban dwelling: condos.  Only this time, instead of it being all about height, it’s about comfort.  Think beautiful set back low-rise stacked brickwork.  Stretching in front of and surrounded on three sides is a beautiful courtyard.  There’s room for your friends, a great view, a place for mother & baby to play.  However, since it’s a three sider, you can also just take a long gaze out of your window and enjoy the sights of the street you live on, but with only half of the noise.

2 Part Series: $170K in the city by Miriam Pia

Monday, November 20th, 2006

Once again let’s dive into examples of real estate available within the city’s limits.  As previously noted $170K is ‘a nice price’ in Atlanta that allows for highly diverse options.

The star of the moment is 2133 Cascade.  This is one fully detached house.  Depending upon your background you may feel that this is ‘a normal house’ rather than a very unusual one.

Of the many features that it offers including a decent lot are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.  In other words, you can put an entire small family into this location, or a studio or share the place amongst friends…Or, if you are the planning type then you can buy this place before you’ve cut the cake but after the engagement ring.

Another Condo. in Atlanta by Miriam Pia

Thursday, November 16th, 2006

Welcome to today’s blog entry.  Here is the high rise du jour:  a mighty tower with 40 stories of condominiums defining what it is to be part of a skyline.

This plain grey building sports balconies on every level.

This place is great for an urban feel, tucked in beautifully as it is at 16th Street.

Just in case you were wondering about your new neighbors: they are going to be the new Trump’s towers.  So, timing is everything; if you want to live near by as the building goes up then now is good, but if not then you will need to wait a few years until the new neighbors have been fully built.

You can call this Condo. known by its address: 1280 W. Condominium at 678-999-0910
