Living in Atlanta: another resource
Once you have moved to Atlanta, what are you going to do? Oh, naturally, you will work but most of you will also want and need to have a good time. Today, I’m just going to let in on another resource.
One of the ways that Atlanta succeeds is through joint ventures between the private and public sectors. The City has an organization that is devoted to this, and it is known as Atlanta Rising.
Atlanta Rising has it’s own web page and along with it, an accessible calendar of events. Just to give you the idea, many but not all of the events involve the current Mayor who is a woman. If you’re like me, then you have no objection to this, but might catch yourself having ‘predicted or expected’ that the person in that role would be a man.
Here’re two examples of the types of activities that have run through this organization during the past few months: the City of Atlanta Retirement, and Tickets for Kids Open Doors to Cultural Events.
