Master Planned in & around Atlanta by Miriam Pia

Yesterday, we looked at Master Planning of communities.  This can be handled in a variety of ways, as complex as setting up entire cities, or devising neighborhoods.  Many urban areas in the Far West, especially down South were intentionally developed from the beginning.  Nowadays, there are developers using the Master Planning method.

There are only two Master Planned sections within the I285 Loop built in the 1940′s.  These are both slightly to the East of Center.  One is more on the northern end of Greater Atlanta, while the other is down at the southern end.

The Georgia Pacific Center is a beautiful example of Master Planning.  This one is even in the heart of the city.  5849 Peachtree is the name of an entire development up in the northern section, whereas a place known as South Woods is the only other area of this type within the “Greater Loop”.
